Goldwing Riders - Watch Out for Rocks

The Honda Riders Club was planning a ride to West Virginia. I had my new Goldwing fresh from the dealers showroom. What could go wrong? I had heard that rocks could be thrown by the front tire and damage the oil filter, but it was my first long ride and he belly pan I ordered aftermarket had not arrived. I was warned by a friend.

He told me about his relative striking a rock and having it strike the oil filter on the new Goldwing. I had also read about bikes being damaged from debris and had ordered a belly pan online. It had not arrived by the time we were leaving for West Virginia.

We departed Manassas for West Virginia. When we arrived in Marlinton, a couple of us were staying in the Marlinton Motor Inn, located a couple of miles north of town. Two of us started out up the hill on US219 leading out of town. As we rounded one of the curves I struck a rock that had fallen down from the cut bank.

My front tire stuck and flipped the rock which struck the underside of the Goldwing. The rock shattered and felt like someone struck the bike with a baseball bat. I immediately saw the blue smoke and knew I had to stop the engine.

After the curve there was a business parking lot which I rode into and I hit the kill switch coasting to a stop. The result of the rock damage is shown below. The irony is I had read of this problem on the webboards and had ordered a belly pan the previous Monday night, but I had not arrived by Friday morning when we departed Manassas.[I:1:J]

The rock put three deep grooves in the grey plastic housing that holds the fog lights. There was a big hole in the oil filter.

A passerby happened to have a tool I could use to remove the oil filter. The engine sump was almost empty. I had lost all my oil. Another club member offerd to let me use his bike to go find oil and a filter in the nearest town. I rode back down the hill and purchased an oil filter and 4 quarts of oil.

When I got to the top of the hill, and the Goldwing, I put the new filter on, dumped the oil in the bike and started it up. I thank the fellow riders who lent me their bike after I damaged mine. I also have to say thanks to the passing motorist who just happened to have a tool I could use to remove the motorcycle oil filter. The bike ran fine as we left the parking lot and rode to the motel where we had our reservations. - 2275

My Bloody Valentine 3D " Bootleg Movie Review

Finally 3D done right! The 3D in this movie was so real that I had to give this movie a high five and a slap in the face! No doubt my friend filmmaking has finally reached the next level. I have pretty much built my reputation on my no holds bared style of reviewing. The big machine that we lovingly call Hollywood has been cranking out crap after piece of crap for a long time. I cant tell you how happy I am to see that someone in tinsel town got it right.

My Bloody Valentine was also social proof that movie dates and horror films go together like Whitney Huston and a crack pipe. I am sure from the aroma in the air someone in the theater forgot to go to the bathroom before watching the movie. As the old man waved the double barrel shotgun from right to left everyone in the audience began moving out of his way. When the tree branch flew threw the windshield you heard the crowd shriek as they were ducking down in their seats.

Defiantly not the case with My Bloody Valentine 3D. Finally I am glad to report that the filmmakers have actually knocked this puppy out of the movie screen and right into your lap.

I guess it would only be fair for me to give you a little warning. It is of the upmost importance that you use the bathroom before viewing this movie. Once the words put on your 3D glasses appears on the screen " all hell is about to break loose. From that moment on the majority of your time will be spent ducking pickaxes, dodging flying bullets, and darting out of the way of falling tree limbs.

Im not by any stretch of the imagination saying that the 3D is perfect. There are obvious times where the 3D seems a bit gimmicky because the story forces its occurrence of projectiles. However the majority of the times the 3D is spot on.

As most of you know nudity and horror movies go together like Britney Spears and cupcakes. However with most horror films you only get what I like to refer to as peek-a-boo nudity. Now you see it, now you dont. Not with My Bloody Valentine 3D baby! You get the full on all out breast in your face nudity. Actually you get way more than that, BUT I am trying to keep this site as clean as I possibly can.

I would like to take a few seconds to address those in charge of distribution and marketing for this film. I have a few questions that I would like the answers too. Will this movie be released on DVD? If so will the DVD be in 3D? If so will the DVD come with the glasses? Just encase I decided to keep my 3D glasses from the movie theater.

Ok its time that I take the gloves off! Lets get down to the real matter at hand To bootleg or not to bootleg that is the question that my readers want to know. I must say NO WAY HOMIE! This bootleg is worth the price of admission. In fact I think that we should all get a discount or at least an apology from movie theaters for over charging us for all of the other crap movies. I doubt if anything happens, it is just a suggestion.

Personally this movie is worth the cost of admission. I wouldnt mind paying the high ass price of $29.99 when it comes out on DVD or if it comes out on DVD. That is as long as it came with the cool 3D glasses. - 2275

I guess when you look at it, its just a common sense. Ive found that you can train this part of your body like any other part. Working out the breathing passages. Using a few exercises, each focused on one area in and around your throat, will remove ANY block you have. No matter whats causing your snoring. The simplicity of this is that no matter what blocks your breathing passages the same few exercises will cure you.

Training the tongue will strengthen it and by doing that prevent it from dropping into your throat when you sleep.

Using the jaw exercises to loosen it up removes tension from it. Don't be surprised at how much easier you breath after a few sessions of the jaw exercises.

The throat exercises open up the throat preventing it from closing when you sleep. Theyll also strengthen and lift up your soft palate, so it wont flap any more.

Its about working smart not hard. You make the choice how many minutes a day you want to train. The minimal time is only three minutes. How long you exercise every day is up to you. You can train for as little as three minutes a day. For quick permanent results, I recommend taking the program that requires ten minutes a day commitment.

The exercises work more quickly for some than for others but if you go in prepared to do the training and exercises for a full two months, you will in all likely hood stop snoring sooner than that. If you are ready to really work hard for two full months you are guaranteed a cure for your snoring. You should be prepared to commit to a two month program to effect a permanent cure. There is a good possibility you will be sleeping like a baby long before the two months are up. As will your partner!!!

If you give careful consideration when choosing a plant, it should stay blooming for approximately 6-8 weeks. The Auto Industry Bail Out

I ask what is going on here in the USA? I am not a financial genius and I could be wrong but this is the way I see it. First we bailed out the banks because they gave out too many bad loans. These people who are financial geniuses gave out loans to people who could not afford them, hoping things would get better and the people could pay their Bills. Basically what they did was gambling. Its like me going to Las Vegas betting over and over on red figuring it will come up eventually and when it never does and I lose all my Money. I then go and ask for all of it back plus more! The Banks who gave the Mortgages where given a bail out of around 600 Billion Dollars so they could stay in business. Now as I have read for around half of that the Government could have paid off all those bad loans and helped poor American Families keep their homes. If all the bad loans where paid then would not that take care of all the Banks problems? Instead they gave super rich bankers who mad bad choices lots of Money so they can continue to make the same decisions that failed before and live their incredible lives that most of us can only dream about.

Now we have the same thing going on with the Auto industry. I do not understand why we would bail them out. It seems to me that if you run a business and you fail, well then you fail. Aren't these the same auto makers who over charge us for their cars? I can not believe none these manufactures can make a car that will last much longer and run on less gas or some other type of cheaper fuel. The Auto industry and the men who run it have been a major controlling factor in the world for many years. Aren't these the same Auto Tycoons that we have heard stories about them keeping all the new smaller car companies from starting up or "buying up" any competitor who comes up with a better Motor Vehicle for over the last half century? The story of Tucker and his dream of making a better car for hard working Americans, Was that not a true Story?

If these Auto Companies where left to go out of Business many Americans who work at these Companies factories would lose their jobs. I do care and understand that it would be very hard on them. Right now is a tough time for all Americans. But I believe that before the dust could even settle from these companies collapse, We would have many small car manufactures starting up making much better cars at lower prices. These cars would last many years longer then the current ones we drive and I can only guess would run much further on a gallon of gas or some other cheaper fuel source. I would bet that fuel would be much better for the environment. Soon after with the huge super powerful big Three of the auto industry no longer in control and maybe crushing any small start up auto manufacturers, We would have hundreds of small car companies all across the Country and soon many more jobs for everyone along with much better automobiles to drive around in that burn cleaner fuels. Who knows maybe we could even get those dam flying cars we where all promised as Kids!

This is a hard time for this country. I think it is evident in the choices the American people have made as of recent, that we now know we can no longer have the same people in power making the same mistakes. These companies and the people that have been controlling this Country have lead us down this road. It looks to me that now that we have reached the end of the road and there is a cliff. Those that have been leading us are now asking us all to trust them and jump off that cliff and fill in the gap so they can walk over us and allow them to continue leading the way !

The idea of this country has always been if you can build a better Mouse trap you can become a Millionaire.What it looks like to me is these people did not allow any one else to build a better Mouse trap. Then they sold the only traps available making them so they would last only a short time, While charging a real high price for them. It has got to the point where the people can not afford to buy new Mouse traps when the old ones brake and have decided they will either try to fix the old ones or just live with the mice. They need their money for other things more important then new Mouse Traps. Now like in the case of the auto Companies they are asking the Government to give them the Money the people can no longer afford to spend on their products.

Now is not the Money they are asking to be given the hard earned Money the Government has taken from the same people in Taxes who can no longer afford to buy these products! These Companies are getting the hard earned Money of the American People who can no longer afford to buy these over priced Vehicles, That last a much shorter time then the ones made 50 years ago. Now our Government who has been over taxing us for years is thinking about giving away 15 Billion dollars of our money.

What charities and programs are we going to have to cut so these Auto tycoons who have houses all over the world, Their own private Jets and pretty much anything they have ever wanted continue to get richer? Will this money come from our Schools? What about the Hungry Children of the USA? What about all those people who are out of work and those that are going to lose their homes the banks are foreclosing on? I bet 15 Billion dollars could really help them out.

America is the land of dreams. It is the Country where a man can be poor one day and rich the next if he has a good idea. There is nothing that says if you have a great Idea and then you make a Mistake and lose everything the Government will bail you out! We are not helping the poor Auto factory workers here, They most likely will loose his jobs any way. We are only helping the Rich Auto Tycoons to be able to pay for all their many luxuries! Do I think our Government will bail them out? Well to that all I have to say is take a look at who funded many of today's politicians campaign and then you will have your answer?

Keep a watch on the eyes and nose of your Eclectus. If his nose is runny and/or his eyes are watery, then that is a sure sign that he needs medical attention.

A healthy Eclectus parrot eats and drinks well. Pay attention to your Eclectus parrot. He should have a very healthy appetite. It is wise to remember that an Eclectus parrot is prone to becoming overweight, simply because he enjoys eating. Therefore, if he isn't eating, there is a problem.

Keep a regular check on your parrots vent, which is located just under the tail feathers. It should be clean and dry, but if for any reason you discover that it is not clean and dry, then this could indicate a problem and a visit to the vet's is recommended.

A nicely groomed parrot, with lovely smooth feathers is a sure sign that your Eclectus is enjoying good health. It goes without saying therefore that if the opposite appearance is the case, then you really should get in touch with your vet.

The last thing that you need to look at on a daily basis is your parrots beak, feet and legs. Check that they are not dry or cracked and while you are doing that keep a watch on your parrots nails. If they are too long then can can be quite uncomfortable, so when needed, do clip them.

You should note that most health problems that an Eclectus parrot develops stems from a diet that isn't sufficient. Often, a change in the diet to include all of the nutrients and minerals that the bird needs is all that is needed to correct the health problem.

8 Common Faux Finish Mistakes and How You Can Avoid Them

If you are embarking on your first faux painting project, then it's worth ensuring that you've mastered the essentials. Beginners may make some errors that prevent them attaining the effect that they're looking for.

1. Your end result is only going to be as good as your materials. That applies to paint and brush quality but above all to your surface. Think of it as your canvas. You're about as likely to achieve your aims on a surface coated with flat paint as you would be painting on tissue paper.

Eggshell or satin base paint is the best undercoat. Faux finishes don't work as well on flat paint surfaces. Paint also needs to dry slowly and flat finishes tend to dry quickly and the scope for fixing mistakes is limited. Finally, underlying flat paint just seems to dull finishes.

2. Forget fancy equipment. You don't need it and you can find economical substitutes for specialist equipment. Buy quality paint and paintbrushes instead of splurging on gimmicks. As a paint palette try using ice cube trays. They have the added advantage of storing more paint. Almost any soft sponge will serve as an applicator and you don't need to buy one from an art supply shop.

You can save yourself heaps by using common sense. Dishwashing liquid cuts grease and will even clean some oil-based paints (such as cream stencils), not only water-based paints. Leftover paint can be frozen rather than being left to dry out and hence wasted.

3. If your surface is pitted or cracked, it will need filling, and sanding when dry. A common error is to assume that that once your faux finish is completed your job is done. Wrong! You MUST seal with water-based sealer before painting, or your wall will look blotchy and diseased. Seal with a color that blends in with the rest of the wall or patches will show through. If you don't have that original paint, mix the sealer with suitably colored acrylic paint to minimize the contrast.

4. Keep oil and water-based paints separate at all costs. Knowing the ingredients of your paints can save you from catastrophe. For example, don't assume that latex paint is an oil paint. It is partly water and so will not mix with oil paint.

5. Dirt can spell disaster. Brushes that haven't been properly cleaned are a key cause of problems, including color contamination. There's a middle way between casual rinsing of your brushes and splurging on expensive custom cleaning products. In your art shop look for cleaning pads in the children's section. The same item targeted at professional artists will cost you a lot more.

6. Mess has a way of multiplying. Splashes and streaks are bad enough in your own home but they are unacceptable if you are working for someone else. If you do splash on carpets, don't use water or chemicals to try to remove it. It could make matters worse. For small splashes, trim the ends of the soiled threads with a pair of small scissors when the paint has dried. If the patch is too large, a product called Goof Off may do the trick.

7. Timing is all-important, especially when using glazes. The faster you can work the better, especially if the weather is hot. Defined areas of wall (or other surface) need to be painted in one go so that you don't end up with wet and dry edges that affect the way the paint spreads. Eliminate tea and toilet breaks until the job is done to avoid problems.

7. You may not recognize your painting style, but everyone has their own unique technique. That's why collaborative efforts don't work. People can work together as long as they work on different layers or walls, not different sections of the same layer/wall. Your style can even change during a day: pre- and post-lunch.
